About Me

My Granny in her element.
My Granny taught me to cross stitch when I was 10 and I have had an off and on love affair with stitching ever since.  This love affair was dormant through my school years and again when I was pregnant and early in my son's life.  But I can't stay away for good.

In the past, I have felt constrained by the never-ending question of "What to do with these finished projects?"  This time, I am letting myself go.  I am doing it for the pure tactile and visual enjoyment of the process.

I love the beauty and creativity of stitching.  I also love the connection to prior generations of women in my family.

I am 35 years old and live in the Los Angeles area with my husband, 5 year old son and 2 cats.  I work part time, coach soccer, volunteer at my son's school and generally have too much going on.

I am drawn to quirky, whimsical designs and get my favorite patterns from books, magazines, and retail shops.

My hobbies are: cross stitching (obviously), walking, reading, napping, and having fun with friends and family.

My Granny (the one who taught me), my mother (the one
I share my love for cross stitch with) and myself - 1985.
